There Are Only Four Ways To Grow A Direct Marketing Business

That's right.  It really does boil down to just four options.  Option #1 is the old fashion way; the method that's been taught since the beginning of the industry.  You sign up to become a distributor and the person who brought you into the business suggests that you immediately pull out a legal pad and write down all of your friends, family and extended family.  A "memory jogger" is then trotted out so that you can write down former classmates you haven't seen in years, your mailman, your kid's teachers, parents of your kid's friends and so on.  Once your list is assembled, you are proud of the fact that you actually know that many people.  After a few months, however, you are disappointed with the fact that the majority of these people don't want anything to do with your new business opportunity.
Okay, so what next?  Option #2 is to go after anyone around you that wasn't originally on your list.  These are the people that you run into during your daily activities.  When using option #2, you find when interacting with these people, you're not really listening to them because you're already angling for how you can introduce your business opportunity into the conversation.  These people don't really know you and most likely, they can't wait for you to go away.  Just like your friends and family, their radar has gone up as to how to avoid you in the future.  They do not want your fliers.  They don't want your business card or marketing materials.  They do not want to go with you to a meeting.  So now you've exhausted all of the leads on your list.  The number of new people you run into during your daily activities is now down to a trickle, so maybe it is time to consider option #3.
Option #3, is the ability to buy leads from the internet.  Millions of people out there are filling out forms or surveys on a daily basis concerning ways to make more money or earn additional income.  These email addresses are captured and sold to people in the MLM industry as "hot leads".  The odds of some joker in Lexington, Kentucky wanting to actually hear from you because months ago he filled out some random questionaire is slim.  His email address is probably being sold to other people besides you as a supposed hot lead.  Not a very good option.  So what in the world do you do then?
